-_- It' about politics and fighting.

Let me put it into categories and the purposes of each creation-

Star Trek was based off of scientific reasoning, hence the replicators, evolution, and the "Beam me up, Scotty".

Star Wars is based off of political views, stating various view points such as in councils, having multiple orders (Republic, CIS, Jedi, Sith, etc.), and how the battles between them became more than just words.
