The Reginning
Chapter 1: The Reginning
The Onyx Hawk had crashed into the fire ball of a surface.
Through the cacophony of the volcanic eruptions, one could still hear the squeals of the actuators of the poor, ancient droid.
As she moved her dying bones, her circuits rotted upon moving, her memory going haywire…
She attempted to remember portions of her life…
She recalled the face of the old hermit Amasa, the one she got her name from…
The time she spent in the Rebellion…
About how Akika had died in her arms…
AO-1’s shaken corpse on Mygeeto…
All the friends she made on the Onyx Hawk…
How Vse-quis had become a traitor, killing Jacen…
How her love for AO-1 made her stand in the way of a final blow…
And how, together, both her and her demonic mirror defeated Helegog, and saved the Galaxy from the CIS…
… and how he had died soon after…
And to end all her memories, there was the face of her beloved friend and creator: Renim Khind.
Her head sparked just from overusing her memory. She tried to pat down the small fires with her hand, until again realizing it was gone, and used the other one in its stead.
As her body fell apart, plate from plate, circuit from circuit, bolt from bolt, she tried desperately to hold onto her memories – and AO-1’s lightsaber…
“Aoewon…” the droid jutted out in a mutter. Her legs continued to limp in their constant stage of breaking down.
It was not soon after that she found herself staring at the bowls of lava.
For longer than she could remember (as she desperately needed maintenance), she had lived a semi-good, if not eventful, life. After the CIS was defeated, the New Government was ensued, and all went calm. She removed herself from political matters, and traveled the galaxy, although by now, along with the previous damages she had taken from fighting Helegog that had never been repaired, her body crumpled and sank down like a failed soufflé.
Her one working eye, though blurred and nearing system failure, stared at the bubbling lava - an electrical buzz, and a whir.
“I… lived a good life…” She let her body go limp, and fall into the lava.
It was soon after she realized she was not dead.
Some thing, which she could no longer see due to her increasing sight impairment, had taken her from the vats before she had been melted.
While she couldn’t make out any exact features, she noticed that whatever it was glowed orange like the magma around her… the thing spoke.
“Trying to waste such precious data and material? I know you’re ancient, but I would’ve hoped you hadn’t gone to such lunacy.”
“What…” another violent buzz, “are you?”
“Don’t recognize me, Amasa?”
From how her memory was, she could no longer tell the difference between a jedi and a jawa.
“I am afraid I no longer have the power to make such discriminations.” The thing gave a small, heartily, and rather… villainous chuckle.
“I am Amasa.”

Uhm... Cheese...
Reincarnation is one of the major principles of at least two religions.
And I have a friend of one of those religions.
And I personally like the idea of reincarnation.
